2003 Boat Parade

We can all be proud of our 2003 entry into the Boat Parade.

Our thanks go to the team of dedicated members who took the time out of their busy holiday schedules to work on our entry. A special thanks goes to Dennis Kreil for providing the boat, without which there would be no entry at all.

The movie clip above was taken from the Judges boat with the Judges waving to our crew.

SGYC members join in the festivities in many ways.

It is amazing the amount of manpower that SGYC provides to the production and operation of this parade and the Cruise of Lights. Don and Louise Halsey loaned their beautiful vessel for the Judges boat, as you can see from the SGYC burgee on the bow.

Our board treasurer, Mary Lou Espinosa, performed the daunting task of serving as the boat parade chairman this year. Everywhere I went during the two day event, I saw our members performing many of the tasks necessary to put on this extravaganza, from those building our entry, to parade lieutenants, to those providing hospitality for the Judges, etc., etc., etc.

You can take pride in SGYC's level of participation in this annual event, which is presented by the Huntington Harbour Philharmonic Groups to help provide music programs in our public schools.
